To provide a vehicle stop shock absorbing device for a vehicle capable of being installed in a curved section and absorbing kinetic energy in a collision by supporting horizontal force (lateral direction force) orthogonal to an advancing direction of a vehicle.
This vehicle stop shock absorbing device 10 stops the vehicle 11 by absorbing kinetic energy of the vehicle 11 traveling on a traveling road 6 in the curved section. The vehicle stop shock absorbing device 10 is provided with a buffer carriage 12 retreating on the traveling road 6 together with the colliding vehicle 11, a carriage guide rail 14 for guiding the buffer carriage 12 in the advancing direction of the vehicle 11, while supporting the lateral direction force acting on the buffer carriage 12, and a hydraulic damper 16 having a distal end of a rod pivotally attached to the buffer carriage 12, horizontally extending backward and having a cylinder pivotally attached to a fixed part. Axial direction force acting on the buffer carriage 12 is damped by the hydraulic damper 16.
