Abstract:
A vehicle surroundings monitoring device is provided with: a surroundings monitoring camera (2) that captures a surroundings monitoring video; a rear side monitoring camera (3) which is used for shooting a rear side monitoring video; and a monitoring function selection unit (5) that selects, as a selected monitoring function, one or more of the one or more peripheral monitoring functions and the one or more rear side monitoring functions on the basis of the vehicle condition of the host vehicle, determines one of a peripheral monitoring video and a rear monitoring video as an input video based on the selected monitoring function, and determines a video processing method corresponding to the selected monitoring function; an input video acquisition unit (6) that acquires the determined input video from either the peripheral monitoring camera or the rear monitoring camera; and an input video processing unit (7) that performs video processing on the input video using the determined video processing method.
