Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and eliminate the former rubber receiver by making the upper part of the tubing material which contains the shock absorber as a spread tube type, and fix a cap to the exterior, then making the upper part of the cap as the contact surface of the bumper rubber.

CONSTITUTION: Chapman-type suspension consists of strut 3 which contains shock absorber 2, and the tubing member 5 of strut 3, is, at its lower part, fixed to the spindle of a wheel, and the piston rod 2c of the shock absorber 2 is fitted, at its uppr part, to the body, by interposing an elastic body therebetween. In this case, the tubing member 5 is spread at the upper part, and be formed in a spread tube 20, and a cap 30 provided with almost vertically folded peripheral part 30a is put on the spread tube 20. The lower part of the cap 30, is seam welded to the tube member 5, by electrodes P3, and P4, and the contact surface 12 of the bumper rubber 11 is provided on the upper part of the cap 30.
