Abstract:
The utility model provides a torque converter for a vehicle. The torque converter for the vehicle can achieve improvement of power transmission efficiency, elimination of insufficient driving force when an engine is started and cooling of a lock-up clutch in a connected (ON) state. A torque converter (1) for a vehicle is configured in such a manner that a pump impeller (2) and a turbine wheel (3)are disposed facing each other. A stator (4) is disposed between these. A lock-up clutch (9) that connects/disconnects (ON)/(OFF) by hydraulic pressure and directly connects an output shaft and an input shaft under predetermined conditions is provided, and the inside of the lock-up clutch (9) is filled with oil, and the lock-up clutch (9) is provided with: a communication hole (3b) that is provided in a path that supplies oil to the inside of a torque transmission chamber (S3) via the lock-up clutch (9); and a flow blocking mechanism (22) that restricts the flow of oil through the communication hole (3b) in accordance with the rotational difference between the input and output of the torque converter (1).
