Abstract:
To provide a vehicle travel control device capable of improving the detection accuracy of a road shape for lane keeping control, while permitting an inter-vehicle distance desired by a driver.
The vehicle travel control device is provided with an imaging means for imaging a road in front of a vehicle, a lane-keeping control means for controlling the vehicle so as to maintain the lane to travel, on the basis of the road shape image-recognized from an imaged image of the imaging means, and a recognition range changing means for changing an imaging range of the imaging means or an image recognition range in the imaged image of the imaging means, according to the inter-vehicle distance from the preceding vehicle in front of the vehicle.
