Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress uncomfortable feeling to a driver in inter-vehicle control cruise traveling which maintains an inter-vehicle distance between an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: The traveling control device for a vehicle, which controls the traveling of a hybrid vehicle having an engine 1 and a motor 2 as drive sources for transmitting drive forces to drive wheels includes: an inter-automobile distance control traveling means which is operated by the start operation of the driver, and automatically adjusts an inter-vehicle distance between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle to a target inter-vehicle distance; and a reaction force generation means which generates a reaction force with respect to a drive-force increase requirement of the driver according to the inter-vehicle distance during the operation of the inter-automobile distance control traveling means. When it is determined that the reaction force generation means generates the reaction force, the traveling control device for the vehicle performs processing for prohibiting the stop of the engine 1.
