Abstract:
To provide a travel control device for a vehicle, which is able to prevent a traffic lane deviation, resulting from an excessive steering override in the process of shifting to LKA degeneration control in the event of failure of an ACC function.SOLUTION: A travel control device for a vehicle comprises: a route generation unit to generate a target route based on information acquired by an environmental state estimation unit; and a vehicle control unit to perform speed control and steering control to cause the vehicle to follow the target route; a steering override function in which an LKA function is stopped by steering intervention by a driver; and a function in which, in the event that an ACC function fails, a driver is informed that the LKA function has stopped and the driver need to take over steering, and degeneration control for the LKA function is performed. The control device also has a function in which, in the event that the ACC function fails, an override threshold (T1d, T2d) for a steering torque or a steering angle, which serves as a criterion for the steering intervention to stop the LKA function, is altered to a value (T1e, T2e) larger than that used when the ACC function operates normally.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
