Abstract:
To provide a vehicle traveling state determination device that suppresses contact between a vehicle and an object beside the vehicle.SOLUTION: A lateral sensor 40 detects a distance to a lateral object A10 outside the vehicle 1 in a vehicle lateral direction Y. The lateral sensor 40 includes a front lateral sensor 40f and a rear lateral sensor 40r. The rear lateral sensor 40r detects a position of the vehicle 1 on the same side as the side detected by the front lateral sensor 40f in the vehicle lateral direction Y which is a position of a vehicle rear side X2 further rear than the detection position of the front lateral sensor 40f. A controller 70 determines the traveling state of the vehicle 1 using distances detected by the front lateral sensor 40f and the rear lateral sensor 40r so that a space between the vehicle 1 and the lateral object A10 is wide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
