To provide a vehicle wheel and manufacturing method thereof, excellent in impact resistance, durability and designing.
A wheel 1 includes a disc flange 4 bent toward a rotation axis thereof and a rim bead sheet 5, where the disc flange 4 is fitted and welded onto the inside of the rim bead sheet 5. An outer end 7-3 of a rim flange is bent toward the rotational axis of the wheel and welded on an angled shoulder portion of the disc flange 4. Therefore, a light-weighting for the wheel can be achieved by making the thickness of a rim 3 uneven. In this manufacturing method, welding of the outer end 7-3 of the rim flange to a bent shoulder portion on the disc peripheral part uses any of TIG welding, soft plasma welding, laser welding and composite laser/arc welding.
