To provide a vehicle wheel manufactured with use of a casting method of a side gate system, having a small dispersion in rim strength in the circumferential direction and an excellent strength balance of the whole in the circumferential direction.
The vehicle wheel 5 has a cross-sectional outer circumferential shape of the rim 3 formed into a circle with a predetermined diameter by applying a spinning to the whole circumference of the rim 3 of a wheel precursor 1 obtained by casting with use of a mold for wheel casting of the side gate system with two gates provided at symmetrical positions with respect to the wheel axis. The wheel precursor 1 has been cast into a shape with the thickness of the rim 3 gradually becoming thinner from a portion 3a corresponding to the gate toward a portion 3b shifted 90°. The processing rate of the portion 3a corresponding to the gate is higher than the processing rate of the portion 3b shifted 90° by applying the spinning to the wheel precursor 1.
