Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent a vehicle from being capable of running, even if ECU is destroied, when a back up device for ECU for controlling at least a fuel injection and ignition timing and a vehicular antitheft device are installed together.
CONSTITUTION: A rolling code preserved in a second ECU72 and the rolling code preserved in a first ECU71 are compared with each other by a comparison means 74. As this comparison result, an indication means 75 indicates, to the first ECU71, the continuance of a start permission when the rolling codes make matching each other and a start prohibition when the rolling codes no matching each other respectively. Meantime, the comparison result is stored in a holding means 76. When a judge means 77 judges that trouble is generated in the first ECU71 and this stored value shows its matching with the rolling code, the operation of the first ECU71 is backed up by a backup means 78.
