A vehicular braking force generation system 10 includes a motor cylinder device 16 in which an electric motor 72 is driven from an origin position OP, which serves as an initiation point of hydraulic pressure generation, to a side of a hydraulic pressure generating direction according to a manipulation volume applied to a brake pedal 12 by a driver, a first slave piston 88a is moved to the side of the hydraulic pressure generating direction by way of a power transmission mechanism 74 with respect to a cylinder unit 76 in response to the driving force, and a hydraulic pressure dependent on the manipulation volume applied to the brake pedal 12 is thus generated, a rotation angle acquisition unit 317 that acquires a rotation angle of the electric motor 72, a driving control unit 325 that executes control to drive the electric motor 72 from the hydraulic pressure generating direction to a terminal position EP in a withdrawing direction which is opposite to the hydraulic pressure generating direction with the origin position OP between them, and an origin position designation unit 321 that designates the rotation angle of the electric motor 72 relevant to the origin position OP.
