Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular collison sensor that can accurately detect a collison occurring to a vehicle and a vehicular collison detecting device using the same.SOLUTION: A piezo film 3 is attached to a backside 22a of a bumper cover 22 of a vehicle. If a collison occurs to the bumper cover 22, the bumper cover 22 deforms, so that the piezo film 3 generates piezo film voltages Vpz. A collision determining portion, when the piezo film voltages Vpz generated by the piezo film 3 are larger than a predetermined voltage threshold Vth, determines that a collison at which a pedestrian protecting device needs to be operated occurs to the bumper cover 22. The piezo film 3 is formed, in a thin film shape, of piezoelectric polymer materials, and is subjected to drawing processing and polarization processing to have piezoelectricity. A direction of the drawing processing and a direction of the polarization processing for the piezo film 3 are approximately identical to a vehicle width direction of the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
