Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the rigidity of a spring seat by preventing the crack generation near a fixed part when the spring seat of a suspension is fixed on a cross member main body.
SOLUTION: A cross member main body 1, formed in nearly U latter shape by a pipe material, is assembled with a suspension 10 consisting of a swing arm 11 and a damper 15 and coil springs 16 arranged to three lateral links 12, 13, 14 separately and installed on car body side frames 6, 7 at its front end. Spring seats 32a, 32b for supporting the coil spring 16 are fixed by welding to the rear end of the cross member main body 1 and installed to the car body side frames 6, 7 at the first installation part 33 of a car body outside and also installed to a frame connection member 34 at the nearly facing second installation part 35. The fixed plats of the spring seats 32a, 32b constitute slant surfaces 36a, 36b widely.
