Abstract:

To provide a vehicular drive unit capable of suppressing wasteful consumption of power in driving auxiliary machinery by power from the drive wheel side.

A drive unit 10A includes a torque converter 12 equipped with a lock-up clutch 15 and having a pump 13 connected to an output shaft 11a of an internal combustion engine 11 and a turbine 14 combined with the pump 13, a power transmission mechanism 16 to which the power from the turbine 14 is transmitted, and an output shaft 18 which the power from the power transmission mechanism 16 is outputted to and is arranged so as to transmit power mutually between it and a driving wheel 2 of a vehicle 1, and auxiliary machinery are driven with the power of either having a higher revolution speed, the pump 13 or the output shaft 18. The power transmission mechanism 16 is provided with a transmission control clutch 19 and a transmission control brake 20 which can restrict the power transmission between the turbine 14 and the output shaft 18.
