Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular engine for reducing nitrogen oxides to be produced by a combustion in a cylinder, without being influenced by the weather, and a control method therefor.SOLUTION: A vehicular engine comprises: an intake passage 13; a storage tank 31; a booster pump 32; a water spray valve 33, a humidity sensor 34 and a control device 38. In the case where the relative humidity Hx of intake air A1 acquired through the humidity sensor 34 is lower than a rain weather humidity Ha at a rainy day running time, the vehicular engine is constituted such that water W1 is sprayed by the control device 38 from the water spray valve 33 to the intake air A1 by the control device on the basis of the difference between the relative humidity Hx and the rain weather humidity Ha.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
