To provide a vehicular headlight device having a new structure capable of forming a plurality of kinds of light distribution patterns.
The vehicular headlight device 10 includes a light distribution varying shade 34, an auxiliary shade 36, and a pattern change mechanism 40. The light distribution varying shade 34 changes the light distribution patterns which are formed by moving it in right and left directions of the vehicle against a light axis of a bulb 30 and by changing a light-shielding state. As for the auxiliary shade 36, an outline of the light distribution varying shade 34 is changed by changing a covering state of an opening part 46 formed at one part of the light distribution varying shade 34. As for the pattern change mechanism 40, by changing at least one of a moving state of the light distribution varying shade 34 and a covering state of the auxiliary shade 36, a shielding state of the light as for the whole shade is changed and the formed light distribution patterns are decided.
