In a first embodiment shown in Fig. (a), a rack guide 10 is substantially prismatic, and a sliding surface 11 of the rack guide 10 is formed in a recessed curved surface corresponding to a projecting curved shape of a back side of a rack shaft (not shown). A large number of rollers 12 (rolling members) are embedded in a rolling manner in the recessed curved sliding surface 11. In a second embodiment shown in Fig. (b), the rack guide 10 is substantially columnar, and the sliding surface 11 of the rack guide 10 is formed in a recessed curved surface corresponding to a projecting curved shape of a back side of a rack shaft (not shown). A large number of balls 13 (rolling members) are embedded in a rolling manner in the recessed curved sliding surface 11.
