Abstract:
To recognize a road shape continuously stably in a vehicle designed to recognize a road shape by means of an electromagnetic radar such as a laser.
The shape of a road ahead of an associated vehicle is recognized according to position information on objects that are candidates for roadside structures forming the shape of the road ahead of the vehicle out of forward objects detected by a forward object sensor and post-detection position information on roadside structure candidate objects out of forward objects no longer detected by the forward object sensor.
