Abstract:
To provide a vehicular side airbag device that can obtain a restraining stroke in a seat width direction while early restraining the head or the waist of an occupant with high restraining force at the time of side collision.SOLUTION: A vehicular side airbag device 10 comprises a bag main body 12, which is stored inside a vehicular seat 14, and receives supply of gas from an inflator 42 to be inflated and expanded beside an occupant P when a side collision is predicted or detected. The bag main body 12 comprises: an upper chamber 12A that covers a side of a head H of the occupant in an inflated and expanded state; and a lower chamber 12B that covers a side of a waist L of the occupant. Further, a slit 30 that separates the lower chamber 12B frontward and backward in a longitudinal direction of the seat is formed in the bag main body 12, where a front part 12B1 and a back part 12B2 of the separated lower chamber 12B are slid and at least portions thereof are sewn overlappingly in a width direction of the seat.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
