Title:
VEHICULAR SKIN MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0473277
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject skin material having function to remove malodor in car rooms by dispersing specific amounts of a hydrous magnesium silicate clay mineral and active carbon in a layer in which a polymer latex having a specific particle diameter or above is fused and fusing the resultant dispersion to a fabric to be the vehicular skin material.

CONSTITUTION: A polymeric surfactant having ≥10000 molecular weight in an amount of 3-20 pts. wt. is initially added to a hydrous magnesium silicate-based clay mineral in an amount of 5-160 pts. wt. and active carbon in an amount so as to provide 50-180 pts. wt. total amount of the aforementioned clay mineral and the active carbon based on 100 pts. wt. polymer latex (e.g. synthetic resin -or rubber-latex) having ≥0.25 μm average particle diameter and stirred to afford a slurry. The aforementioned polymer is then mixed in the resultant slurry to provide a back coating agent, which is subsequently applied to a fabric for a vehicular skin material composed of natural, synthetic fiber, etc. Thereby, the objective skin material in which the above-mentioned clay and active carbon are fixed in a polymer latex layer of fused and coated polymer latex particles at 15-135 g/m2 coating amount. Thereby, the aforementioned skin material has characteristics of removing malodor in car rooms and suppressing static electricity.
