Abstract:

To enable a user to smoothly purchase any desired commodity from a vending machine without having trouble searching for the commodity, thus preventing sales from being slowed down.

A vending machine 1 stores the name and price of each commodity in association in a storage part 13 and detects inserted coins or bills by means of a coin/bill detecting part 19. Based on the coins or bills detected, a CPU 11 integrates the total amount inserted and the total number of coins and/or bills inserted, predicts the user's intention based on the integrated total amount or the total number of bills and/or coins inserted, and weights each commodity according to this prediction. According to this weighting, lamps 25-n matching the different commodities are highlighted.
