To simplify settlement processing by enabling a user who has an IC card (recording medium) to make a vending machine store a settlement brand to be used for settlement.

A user selects a settlement brand registration start means (step S1), and holds an IC card over a reading/writing part. When the reading/writing part detects the IC card (step S3: Yes), it reads a settlement brand corresponding to settlement service information recorded in the IC card (step S4). The vending machine displays only the settlement brand handled by the vending machine at a display part (step S5). The user selects the brand to be used for settlement by a settlement brand selection means, and selects a settlement brand registration determination means (step S6: Yes), and stores the brand in the memory of the vending machine (step S7).
