Title:
VENTILATING STRUCTURE FOR SAFETY COPING WITH BATTERY STORAGE IN LONG TERM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002203529
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a battery wherein a storage time before use can be extended longer than that in a battery in the past without accompanying a danger of damage of the ventilating structure.

Active materials to form respective anode and cathode, and a metal container to house an electrolytic solution are equipped in the battery. The container, whose upper part is sealed up with a hermetic seal cap is insulated from the active materials by insulating materials. Two contact point terminals electrically connected with the anode and the cathode by a connecting means, and a penetrating passage formed by a tube arranged so that it can be closely attached to or connected with a cathode terminal are installed in the cap. The penetration passage communicates with the inside and outside of the battery, and is occluded against the outside direction by a metal hot metal type composition. The ventilating structure is occluded against the inside direction by an organic composition wherein the penetrating passage is inert for the electrolytic solution, and whose melting point is lower than or equal to that of the metal hot melt type composition.
