Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a reliable measurement result by compensating the influence due to the environment of a flowmeter in a ventilation measuring instrument such as cigarette.
CONSTITUTION: A three-way solenoid valve 5 is provided between a first closing chamber 1c for partially sealing the side portion of a specimen and a flowmeter 6. A three-way solenoid valve 4 is provided between a second closing valve 2 for closing the edge part of the specimen and a critical nozzle. One terminal of the three-way solenoid valve 4 is connected to that of the three-way solenoid valve 5 via pipings 4a and 5a. The three-way solenoid valves 4 and 5 are operated and the flowmeter 6 is blocked to obtain an output value e1 of the flowmeter 6 (A). The flowmeter 6 is directly connected to a critical nozzle 3 to obtain an output value e2 of the flowmeter 6 (B). A calibration curve is obtained from the output values e1 and e2, a flow 0, and the constant flow of the critical nozzle 3. The obtained calibration straight line is used for measurement.
