To provide a ventilation system capable of avoiding the occurrence of a fire and extinguishing a fire without the risk of damaging a system component while a system is in a normal operation state and to provide an internal combustion engine provided with the ventilation system.
A system comprises: a filter; a gas pipe capable of feeding system gas to the filter; an extinguishing device provided with a control mechanism, and a detection mechanism and an extinguishing chemicals powder discharge mechanism both connected to the control mechanism. A spark sensor of the detection mechanism is disposed within a flow channel of the system gas. The detection mechanism issues a spark capture signal to the control mechanism when the spark sensor detects a spark within the flow channel. The control mechanism issues an extinguishing chemicals powder discharge signal to the extinguishing chemicals powder discharge mechanism in response to the spark capture signal. The extinguishing chemicals powder discharge mechanism communicates with the flow channel near the spark sensor and discharges the extinguishing chemicals powder into the flow channel in response to the extinguishing chemicals discharge signal.
