To provide a ventilator capable of changing the air capacity of an exhaust fan without damaging a gear of an electric damper.
The ventilator includes an exhaust fan 4 that sucks in-room air and discharges the in-room air to the outside through an exhaust duct 3, an electric damper 5 that is installed at the side of the exhaust duct 3 and makes the in-room air flow in an exhaust duct 3 from the exhaust fan 4 as the damper is opened, an external controller 9 that outputs a strong signal and a weak signal when strong operation in which the air capacity of ventilation is large is selected or outputs the weak signal when weak operation in which the air capacity of ventilation is small is selected, a fan control circuit which controls the exhaust fan 4 so that the air capacity of ventilation is large when the strong signal and the weak signal are inputted and then controls the exhaust fan 4 so that the air capacity of ventilation is small when only the weak signal is inputted, and a signal detection means of driving and keeping the electric damper 5 opened by driving the damper while detecting the weak signal.
