PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilator and a ventilation method for construction work for expanding the width of an existing tunnel, which prevent the impairment of visibility of a general vehicle traveling in a protector.
SOLUTION: Airtightness is ensured by using an air tube 42 so as to close the side of a face 21 of the protector 3, and the airtightness is ensured by attaching a barrier sheet 5 to the periphery of a leg in the rear of the face 21. An air blower 60 for exhaust is installed on the side of the face 21, and an air blower 61 for air supply is installed in the rear of a work area 22, so that contaminated air in the work area 22 can be exhausted and fresh air can be supplied for ventilation.
