To provide a venting member which suffers little direct effect of foreign substances coming from any directions on a breathing film and hardly retains such foreign substances in its inside.
The venting member 1 of this invention comprises a support 2 in which a through-hole 3 is formed, a venting film 6 which closes up the through hole 3 of the support 2, and a cover component 10 which covers the venting film 6. A vent 10a is formed in a top surface 11 of the cover component 10 and a cutout 10b is formed in a side wall 12. These vent 10a and cutout 10b are work as ventilation passage from the inside to the outside. The vent 10a is positioned so that it may not overlap with the aeration area of the venting film 6 in the axial direction. The side wall 12 of the cover component 10 extends to the lower than the position where the venting film 6 is placed in the axial direction to protect the film 6 over all peripheral area. The venting film 6 forms a plateau 14 projected upward in the axial direction.
