Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an antiparasitic comprising a (tetrahydrofuryl)-lactone and useful for treating the infected parasites of man and livestock. CONSTITUTION: This antiparastic contains a substance selected from the group of compounds which are extracted from the plant of a species belonging to the genus Rollinia or the family Annonaceae and which each has (A) a terminal γ-lactone group capable of being substituted, (B) an alkylene group having a 9-20C linear hydrocarbon chain, having one to six secondary hydroxyl groups, if necessary, protected (as ester or ether groups) or converted into oxo forms and bound to the group A with one of the atomic values, (C) at least one divalent tetrahydrofuryl group bound to the group B at the 2-position of the cyclic group and capable of being substituted, (D) an alkyl group having a 7-17C linear hydrocarbon group, capable of containing one to six secondary hydroxyl groups similarly in the group B, and bound to the group C at the 5-position of the ring in the group C with the atomic valency.
