To provide an insect damage inhibitor against verminous insects, to provide a material having excellent vermin damage inhibitory effect, and to provide a method of producing the material.
The insect damage inhibitor contains, as active ingredient, a (meth)acrylic acid derivative of the general formula[I]: CH2=C(R)COOXY, a polymer thereof or a combination of the derivative with the polymer, or a (meth)acrylic acid derivative's metal salt of the general formula[II]: CH2=C(R)COOZ, or a mixture of the (meth)acrylic acid derivative of the general formula[I], a polymer thereof or a combination of the derivative with the polymer and the (meth)acrylic acid derivative's metal salt of the general formula[II]. In the general formula[I], R is H or CH3; X is (CH2)aOb((a) is 0-4, and b is 0 or 1); Y is a fluoroalkyl group represented by (CF2)cZ(c is 1-10, and Z is H or F), tetrahydrofurfuryl, phenyl, isobornyl, norbornyl, tricyclo[5,2,1,O2, 6]decanyl or decenyl, or dicyclopentenyl group. In the general formula[II], R is H or CH3; and Z is a metal atom. Vermin damage inhibitory materials are obtained by imparting this active ingredient to fibers or textile products.
