To surely carry an article to be carried in the vertical direction with a simple structure by providing a supporting member in the lower part of a vertical carrying route, the supporting member being pushed to move by the raised carried article for allowing the passing of the same.
A container 12 is placed on a pushing plate to be pushed up along a vertical carrying route 20 in a guide 22. In this case, the upper edge of the flange part 14 of the container 12 is contacted with a supporting member 38, and the supported end part of the supporting member 38 is positioned in the lower side of the flange part 14 of the container 12. Then, when the pushing plate is returned to its initial position, the container 12 is moved away from the pushing plate and supported on the supporting member 38. Then, when a succeeding container 12 is raised in a similar manner, it is contacted with the bottom part of the preceding container 12 and these are integrally raised in a layer loading state. When the pushing plate is returned to its initial state after is reaches its raised position, the container 12 of the second stage is supported on the supporting member 38. By repeating this operation, a plurality of containers 12 are loaded in a stacked manner and raised along the vertical carrying route 20 in the guide 22.
