PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical circulation type conveying device that can eliminate the need for a feeding device and a discharging device or the like in a descending passage so as to reduce manufacturing costs and maintenance costs, save energy and save space, and reduce cycle time of conveyance.SOLUTION: A descending passage part 3, provided with a guide rail 8A for front wheel descending that guides front wheels F of a carriage 5 and a guide rail 8B for rear wheel descending that guides rear wheels R of the carriage 5, has a section in which movement of the carriage 5 in the descending passage part 3 is performed by being dropped by own weight thereof without power so that the carriage 5 keeps an approximately horizontal state while guiding the front wheels F by the guide rail 8A for front wheel descending and guiding the rear wheels R by the gude rail 8B for rear wheel descending, and the carriage 5 dropped by the own weight thereof from the descending passage part 3 inertially runs on a return passage part and moves without power.
