Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a uniform temperature distribution of steel materials within a furnace by a method wherein a heat transfer at a part supported by a supporting fitting at a lifting or descending support and another heat transfer at a gap not supported by the supporting fitting are made equal to each other when the steel materials are heated by a vertical induction heating furnace.
CONSTITUTION: A lifting or descending heat removal preventing member is arranged in a gap 7 between supporting fittings 6 for use in supporting steel materials S in a lower loading type induction heating furnace, the member is lifted up to be abutted against the steel materials S when the materials are to be heated so as to fulfill the gap 7. With such an arrangement, heat removal from the gap 7 is prevented and a uniform heating at the lower part of each of the steel materials is accomplished.
