Abstract:
To provide a hybrid type vertical takeoff/landing machine which is improved in fuel consumption performance.SOLUTION: A vertical takeoff/landing machine comprises: a main propulsion device (gas turbine engine) which comprises a high-pressure and a low-pressure turbine shaft, and generates front/rear-directional propulsion power of a machine body with a high-heat exhaust jet; a high pressure and a low pressure-side motor generator which are fitted to the high-pressure and low-pressure turbine shafts; a subordinate propulsion device which rotates a plurality of fans rotating on axes parallel with an up/down-directional axis of the machine body to generate up/down-directional lift power; and a controller which while supplying electric power obtained by one of the high pressure and low pressure side- generators to the other to assist in rotating the high pressure and low pressure-side turbine shafts of the main propulsion device when obtaining the front/rear-directional propulsion power (S16), performs control etc., to reduce rotations of the high-pressure and low-pressure turbine shafts of the main propulsion device to predetermined quantities and also to place the subordinate propulsion device in operation to generate up/down-directional lift power when obtaining the up/down-directional propulsion power (S12, S20).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
