PURPOSE: To upgrade the magnetic circuit efficiency of a main magnetic pole and to improve the frequency characteristic of a high frequency region by providing laminated films having multi-layered structure to the rear part of a main magnetic pole film.
CONSTITUTION: The main magnetic pole film 20 consisting of a high permeability soft magnetic material film is sandwiched by the 1st and 2nd joint body blocks 21, 22 consisting of a non-magnetic material such as ceramics and one end face of the joint body blocks is so rounded together with one end of the film 20 that said end face can slidingly contact with a magnetic recording medium with a good head touch. The laminated films 24 having the multi- layered structure in which the high permeability magnetic material layers consisting of Co-Zr-Nb, etc. and the non-magnetic material layers consisting of SiO2, etc. are alternately laminated are provided on the other end faces of the blocks 21, 22, i.e., between the rear of the film 20 and a magnetic material block 23 consisting of ferrite, etc.
