Abstract:
To provide a vertical shaft windmill capable of exhibiting extremely higher energy conversion efficiency compared to performance of a high-efficiency vertical shaft windmill where heaving motion is provided to an already well-known blade.SOLUTION: A vertical shaft windmill 1 comprises a blade 5 rotating around a rotational shaft 2 installed vertically. The vertical shaft windmill is configured to cause a heaving motion provision mechanism to provide a rotary orbital motion other than a circular orbit to the blade 5 rotating around the rotational shaft 2, and provide pitching angle change operation in which a blade pitching angle changes for at least the blade 5 in the rotary orbit motion of the blade 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
