To provide a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft capable of safely taking-off or landing even in a narrow space in which an obstacle is present while performing thrust control with a simple configuration.

A vertical takeoff and landing aircraft includes: a propeller 2 having a fan 21 for generating lift and thrust; a motor 3 for supplying power to the propeller 2; a frame 4 for coupling the propeller 2 and the motor 3; a seat 5 coupled so as to be able to turn forward and backward in relation to the frame 4, being suspended from and supported by the frame 4; a control stick 6 coupled with the frame 4; and a grounding leg 7 connected to the seat 5. The propeller 2 is coupled to the frame 4 such that the drive axis of the fan 21 is vertical during landing. Operation of the control stick 6 moves the frame 4 relative to the seat 5, changing the orientation of the propeller 2.
