To provide a vertical type submergible pump having a ring-shaped recess formed at the upper surface of its casing cover, whereby an oil quantity increase in an oil chamber can be applied to any existing vertical type submergible pump through utilization of this recess as an air chamber, and capable of elongating the possible operating time to a great extent.
The vertical type submergible pump includes a scroll chamber and a motor in a motor housing 5 and is structured so that the oil chamber 10 for lubricating double mechanical seals 8 and 9 to seal the scroll chamber and the motor from each other is provided between them, wherein a diaphragm 21 is set stretching at the bottom in the oil chamber 10, and in the lower part of the diaphragm 21, an air chamber 22 isolated from the oil chamber 10 is formed.
