To provide a vertically movable multistory parking garage capable of protecting vehicles from flood.

A float switch 8 as a water level detecting means is mounted on a predetermined position inside of a pit 7 of the vertically movable multistory parking garage. A controller 5 monitors the flow switch 8. When the float switch 8 is turned on, that is, when a water level is over a predetermined value, the controller 5 drives a motor device 4 for vertically moving the vehicles to raise the vehicles 1 with buckets 2. Whereby the vehicles 1 in the pit 7 can be protected from flood. Further the controller 5 drives a drainage pump 9 to pump out the water from the pit 7. Simultaneously, the flood is informed to a manager or an owner by means of a portable telephone as a communicating means in the controller 5. Whereby the manager or the owner can be urged to move the vehicles 1 to another place in a case of serious flood.
