Title:
VESSEL FOR MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63299849
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To dip out clean molten metal, to pour the molten metal having no impurity into a casting and to improve the quality of the casting by opening an opening/closing means in a flowing hole when the flowing hole in a vessel body positions below the molten metal surface and dipping out the molten metal.

CONSTITUTION: A holder 5 holding the vessel body 3 is shifted to upper part of a holding furnace 1 by carrying device 12 and next shifted downward. The flowing hole 4 in the vessel body 3 is descended and at the time of reaching to the position of the fixed depth from tip part of the molten metal surface detector 10, a control device for the opening/closing means is worked, and a needle valve 9 is drawn up through a piston rod 7, to open the opening/closing means. The clean molten metal, which impurities occupying the periphery of the flowing hole 4 are not contained, is invaded into the vessel body 3 from the flowing hole 4 and the molten metal surface in the vessel is brought into contact with the molten metal surface detector 11 in the vessel. The needle valve 9 is descended by the control device for the opening/closing means and the valve 9 and valve seat 14 are closed, to complete the dipping-out. By this method, the vessel body 3 is ascended and carried to the mold direction, and the valve 9 and the valve seat 14 are opened at the prescribed position, to pour the molten metal 15 into a sprue of the mold.
