Title:
VIBRATING DEHYDRATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5615809
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To accelerate the sedimentation of solids as well as discharge separated solids and liquid with good efficiency by subjecting a solid-liquid mixed slurry to the vibrating dehydration in a tank equipped with a vibrator, having a drain port in its upper side and a discharge port in its lower or bottom side.

CONSTITUTION: The mixed slurry of a high specific gravity and a wide particle distribution is put in the tank 1 and then the vibrating motor 2 is actuated to vibrate the tank 1 to settle the solids present. Then, after discharging the liquid on the solid layer through the drain port 7 by opening a valve 8, a vibration is again applied to the tank, whereupon fine particles penetrate into among solid particles to cause the solid layer to closely packed, liquid content among coarser particles to sweat to the upper part on the solid layer, and enriched slurry containing fine particles to remain due to the wave motion of the liquid content. Again, a valve 8 is opened to discharge the enriched slurry with the aid of vibration as needed, and then a valve 4 is opened to discharge a dehydrated cake by means of vibration. Thus, the dehydration of slurry can be effectively performed by utilizing vibration in this way.
