PURPOSE: To prevent the sticking of a resin component by drying the glass chopped strand while vibrating the strand by using a punching-type flow straightening plate with a polytetrafluoroethylene coating layer formed on its surface.
CONSTITUTION: A binder consisting of a resin emulsion, coupler, lubricant, antistatic agent, etc., is applied on the surface of a glass filament, and the filaments are bound to form a glass strand G. The wet glass chopped strand G is laid on a stainless-steel punching-type flow straightening plate 11 coated with a polytetrafluoroethylene layer 15 and pierced with a small holes 11a and inserted into a drying chamber. The plate 11 is vibrated with specified vibration frequency and amplitude, and heated by the hot air passed through many small holes 11a to 100-200°C which is the temp. of the atmosphere in the drying chamber. The glass chopped strand G on the plate 11 is gradually dried, moved, passed through the drying chamber in about 10min and dried. The resin component is not stuck to the plate 11.
