To provide a vibration control device which is easily mounted on a skeleton or the like of a building and facilitates replacement work and maintenance, and also to provide a method of mounting the same.

The vibration control device is provided with a rectangular frame 7, a pair of support parts 8, 8 which are formed to face the rectangular frame 7, vibration control mechanism 10 which is supported by the pair of the support parts 8, 8. The pair of the support parts 8, 8 are detachably attached to the rectangular frame 7 while a pendulum member 15 of the vibration control mechanism 10 is supported. Accordingly the vibration control device 1 is divided into the rectangular frame 7, the support member 8 and for an example the pendulum member 15 which are attached to the skeleton, so that the vibration control device 1 is easily mounted by an operator even if it is relatively heavy.
