Abstract:
To provide a vibration control device advantageous in effectively attenuating seismic energy without a time lag behind an occurring seismic ground motion.SOLUTION: Based upon a part, corresponding to a P wave arriving first, of seismic motion information detected by a seismic motion detection part 20, S-wave seismic motion information is estimated from a seismic motion learning model 22A, and based upon the estimated S wave seismic motion information, an attenuation quantity of an energy attenuation part 18A is controlled. As compared with a conventional case in which arriving S-wave seismic motion is detected and the attenuation quantity of the energy attenuation part 18A is controlled according to the detection result thereof, the energy attenuation part 18A can generate attenuation force without any time lag if horizontal force acts on a building due to the S-wave seismic motion, so the seismic energy can be securely absorbed, which is advantageous in reducing swings of the building.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
