Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a vibration control device of attaining sure support of a vibration source and prevention of its coming off and also simplification of a structure and spread of possible displacement quantity of a drive unit.
CONSTITUTION: In a vibration control mechanism for controlling transmission of vibration to a supporting base panel 12 from a vibration source, a pair of negative magnetostrictive element drive units 2, 3, having a characteristic of contracting when applied a magnetic field, are provided, and each drive unit is arranged so that a bracket 11 fixed to the vibration source is interposed further with one of the drive unit positioned between the bracket and the supporting base panel 12. Both the drive units 2, 3 and the bracket are fastened together to the supporting base panel by a bolt 10, and by alternately applying a magnetic field to both the drive units, relative displacement is generated between the bracket 11 and the supporting base panel 12.
