To easily and reliably attach a damper to the support shaft of a vibration control device and establish its effective vibration-control function.

A vibration control device comprises a substantially gourd- sectioned hollow damper rubber 1 having an upper expansion part, a lower expansion part and a fitting part therebetween, and a support shaft 8 erected on an optical-disk drive body for supporting the upper and the lower expansion parts of the damper rubber through engagement therewith. The diameter of the opening of the lower expansion part is made larger than that of the upper expansion part. The support shaft 8 has the first engaging part to engage with the upper expansion part, the second engaging part to engage with the fitting part and the third engaging part to engage with the lower expansion part, and are tapered at its contiguous portions between the first and the second engaging parts and between the second and the third engaging parts.
