Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively damp vibration, by installing a vibration-resistant element in a column-beam frame structure through an actuator as a vibration control device and control the generated control force of the actuator so as to retain a specified shape of the restoring characteristic in the relation between the amplitude of relative story and the restoring force of story.
SOLUTION: An actuator 1 as a vibration control device is installed through a vibration-resistant element such as a brace 5 or the like in a column-beam frame structure 4. The restoring force characteristic of the layer in which the actuator is installed is represented as a relationship of the sum Q (=Qs+F) of the restoring force Qs of the frame itself and the control force F of the actuator 1, and relative story displacement X, and the restoring characteristic of the rectangular form (the absorptive capacity of energy is maximum) can be obtained on the coordinate plane by actuating the control force F through the actuator 1. The actuator is controlled so as to retain the nearly rectangular shape of the restoring force characteristic on the vibration condition which always varies. In this way, the control rule can be simplified regardless of the vibration condition.
