Abstract:

To effectively show the vibration control function, and while to reduce the surface area of a foundation so as to effectively utilize a land by providing a building such as an ultra multistoried building with a damper for attenuating displacement of a building in the direction for falling the building.

A building 10 such as an ultra multistoried building has a low layer part 10b having a cross sectional area larger than that of an upper structure 10a, and dead weight of the building 10 is supported by support piles 11 constructed in the ground at a central part of the building, and vertical dampers 13 are provided between peripheral piles, which are constructed in the ground at a peripheral part, and the building 10. The vertical damper 13 is formed by filling an annular clearance between an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder with viscous and elastic material such as rubber group or asphalt group. When an external force such as an earthquake is applied to the building 10, the vertical damper 13 absorbs the energy of the moment in the direction for falling the building 10 so as to attenuate the vibration of the building 10. Consequently, surface area of a foundation of a building 10 can be reduced by reducing the falling moment to be applied to the building 10, and effective utilization of land is realized.
