Title:
VIBRATION CONTROL WALL FOR SUSPENDED PARTITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07269163
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a vibration control wall without sacrificing the effective space of a building by making a partition wall of a suspended structure and by using the suspended partition wall as a mass of a dynamic shock absorbing structure.

CONSTITUTION: When the vibration due to an earthquake or the like is caused to a building, a part of the vibrational energy is transformed to the vibration of a suspended partition wall 21. When the suspended partition wall 21 vibrates, a counterweight 28 being integrated therewith is also vibrated, and friction is caused between the receiving beam 31 inside a damper 27 and a viscous body 32. The vibrational energy of the suspended partition wall 21 is converted into thermal energy, and is dispersed into the environment through the damper 27. Thus, since a part of the vibrational energy caused in a building is converted into thermal energy and is dispersed, the vibraion control of the building can be realized.
